This Easter Saturday, Coolamon was buzzing with 3,000 visitors in town to enjoy the Easter Saturday Events. Visitors enjoyed the day attending the Rotary Markets, Hot Rods and Grand Designs.

People gathered in Coolamon to experience the unique initiative, Grand Designs, Coolamon Style. Like the popular television show, ten local residents opened their doors to the public to showcase their Grand Designs. The houses ranged from historic, to modern, to forward thinking and energy efficient. The 480 people who purchased tickets were inspired by these innovative architectural designs. Owners of the ‘Grand Designs’ thoroughly enjoyed opening their doors, with people flowing through all day.

Grand Designs, Coolamon Style, was part of initiative that aimed to raise money for the local Men’s Shed and it achieved just that, raising $6,000 for the Men’s Shed. The money raised will go towards building the Men’s Shed their own shed on the block of land that has kindly been donated by Coolamon Shire Council.

Over 100 Narrandera Hot Rods roared into town on Easter Saturday, driving past Allawah Retirement Village before parking along Red Grave Park for a fantastic Show and Shine.

Visitors wandered through the Rotary Markets and enjoyed shopping in local businesses. The town was buzzing, with shops recording record sales and many eateries selling out of food.

All in all the day was a fantastic success and a great way for visitors to spend their Easter Saturday! Stay tuned for the next ‘episode’ of Grand Designs Coolamon Style…
