Success for Local Photographer

Riverina photographer, Jodie Harris of Harris Studios, has been named as an Associate of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) following her success at the recent national Photographic show.

Held in Melbourne late last month, the annual Photographic Show attracted 3,800 entries from all over the world, with Jodie receiving two Silver awards –in the Portrait category, and one Silver with Distinction award for her entry in the  Wedding category. These results, combined with awards won at previous shows, gave Jodie enough points to be awarded an Associates of the Industry, which is a  sought after accolade within the industry.

Jodie said she is thrilled to be named as an Associate and to achieve such great results with her submitted prints in the show.

“Photography is a lifelong passion of mine starting at 15 and is part of who I am,  coming from a family of diverse creative mediums as well as photographers it is extremely honoring to be recognised by the Australian industry in this way,” Jodie said.

“Having only lived in the Riverina for the past 8 years I love the area and landscape, it is a wonderful place to locate Harris Studios and have recently relocated the studio to a larger premises within Ganmain where we are based. I am lucky to work with so many lovely Riverina clients, both for weddings, portrait photography and corporate clients, which has given me the opportunity to showcase the Riverina through my entries into a number of national and international photography shows.”

“My next goal is to achieve my Masters with the AIPP in the coming years and I’m looking forward to featuring more of the Riverina’s beauty in my entries for next year,” she said.

In January, Jodie was also awarded three Silver awards at the International Print Awards and is a member of the new high standing Riverina Wedding Industry Association (RWIA) that supports the local Professionals of the Wedding industry.
