Trails, tracks and quiet roads are waiting for you to explore

Discover Kindra forest

Tracks weaving through natural bushland, you can walk or ride. You’ll discover a large range of Australian wildlife and flowers. The forest includes 10km of trails that you can explore, you can choose from three loops at different levels and distances (or make your own way through). Visit our website for more information on the bike and walking tracks.

Ride the Gilgai trail

A track that covers the distance from Coolamon to Ganmain (16km one way trip). Make a day of it and ride from one town to the other stopping at the end to enjoy treats from cafes before making your way back. Designed to start in either Ganmain or Coolamon. Read more about the Gilgai trail on our website.

Pump track and mobile skate park

All ages can enjoy the Coolamon Skatepark, mobile skatepark and pumptrack. The mobile devices rotate around the Shire landing on launchpads in smaller towns and villages.

For these school holidays the pumptrack will be in Matong and the mobile skate park will be in Ganmain.

Parks and playgrounds

Keep active and soak up the outdoors before winter hits. Coolamon Shire has a variety of outdoor spaces to enjoy. You’ll find great parks and gardens for picnics and family fun, all offering playground equipment, BBQ facilities and toilets.

Coolamon Fire Museum

It is small but packed with plenty, the Coolamon Fire Museum is loaded with an abundance of memorabilia and collectables the kids can view. Chris, the owner, enjoys telling the kids (and adults) about the various items. Spot the flashing lights on the fire engine ride at the entrance.

For the parents

There is a selection of delicious eateries and boutiques to enjoy.
Take your time and wander.
