Coolamon Shire's op shops, junk stores and antique treasure troves
There’s no denying what’s old is cool again! The resurgence of vintage style has led to a revival of op shops, junk stores and antique treasure troves.
Shopping for second hand goods is not only a special way to support your community, but is also an easy way to have a huge impact on the environment. Australians have a serious problem with fashion waste: we’re the world’s second-largest consumers of textiles, and each year we buy on average 27kg of new clothing and other textiles – but we dump six tonnes of textiles into landfill every 10 minutes. buying second hand is a great way to mitigate your impact on the environment. Rather than feeding into the larger economy and wasting further resources, you can source something that’s already been created and reuse it.
Luckily for you Coolamon Shire is busting at the seams with amazing places to get your retro on!
