School holiday fun in the Coolamon Shire!

Coolamon Shire have a variety of fun school holiday activities and events planned to keep the kids (and big kids) entertained! Summer holidays are a great time to get outside enjoy the sun, catch up with friends and discover new things.

 We have gathered a list of things to keep everyone busy.

Community Pools

Cool off at one of the Shire’s community pools, Ardlethan, Coolamon and Ganmain pools are open throughout the holidays. Get your friends together and enjoy the inflatable.

  • Ardlethan – 2 & 3 February

  • Coolamon – 12 January and 10 February

  • Ganmain – 26 & 27 January and 17 February

Parks and Playgrounds

Visit one or many parks and play grounds throughout the Shire, each playground offering a different selection of equipment. Gather your friends for a BBQ in the park.

Coolamon Shire Library School holiday program

The library offers a fun packed school holiday program. Contact the Coolamon Shire Library to book your spot.

  • Pencil Shaving Art – 16 January

  • Create a Story - 18 January

  • Twirling Twig Mobile – 23 January

Coolamon Skate Park + Mobile Skate Park

Invite your mates to meet you at the Coolamon Skate Park. New to the shire is the Mobile Skate Park, this currently set up in Marrar.

Pumptrack

It’s NEW! Check out the all wheels pumptrack. This is part of our rotating mobile facilities. First stop is Ardlethan. Visit with your bike and/or scooter.   

Bike and Walking Tracks

If you’re wanting to spend time outdoors visit Kindra Park Bike and Walking Track. The Forest contains a range of Bike and Walking Trails that will lead you on a journey of discovery, taking in the flora and fauna of the Forest.

Ganmain's Murumbang Interpretive Nature Walk winds around the Ganmain Forest, railway dams, Boggy Creek and incorporates two bird hides, interpretive signage and an Interpretive Centre that provides picnic facilities.

Ardlethan Kelpie Statue & Frank Bradley Statue

Visit Ardlethan ‘Kelpie’ statue which commemorates the birthplace of the Australian kelpie breed of dog. The Frank Bradley statue recognises his achievement of winning the Stawell Gift some 80 years ago. While in Ardlethan take a relaxing stroll along the walking track.

Basketball Courts

Get your friends together and check out the new full court basketball sites in Ardlethan, Ganmain and Marrar and half court in Matong.

Community Garden

Pick, plant or water some veggies, visit the community garden. We have two within the Shire, visit either Coolamon or Beckom.

Coolamon Fire Museum

A wonderful collection of firefighting memorabilia.
