Old-Fashioned Family Fun at Ganmain Open Day

Get ready for some old-fashioned fun at the Ganmain Historical Society Open Day, taking place on Saturday 18 March at the Historical Museum in Waterview Street, Ganmain.

The family day includes a range of activities that allow visitors to step back in time and see what life was like in the good old days.

There will be vintage machinery demonstrations, Clydesdale horse work, and farming demonstrations like they used to do it back before technology changed the face of farming forever. Traditional trades such as blacksmithing, wood saw demonstrations and bush carpentry will be on display and there will be a plenty of classic cars and aeroplanes to have a look at.

The Museum will be open to showcase its collection and there will be a BBQ lunch and afternoon tea available for purchase.

The event runs from 10am to 5pm with entry $5 for adults and $2 for children.

While in Coolamon Shire, a visit to Coolamon Cheese is a must. Taste the broad range of flavoured cheeses as well as traditional favourites such as cheddar, feta, blue, brie and camembert. View the historic cheese-making equipment and see cheese being made, matured and packaged.

The historic ‘Up to Date’ store and Coolamon Fire Museum will also open for visitors to extend their weekend of learning and history.

*Please note that the Twilight Markets that were previously advertised as part of this event have been postponed until Mother’s Day.
