This Easter long weekend, a short drive to Coolamon promises a big adventure filled with colour, culture and chronicles of the regions rich and wonderful history.
Easter Saturday, Coolamon’s gardens are in full bloom for the Kindra Park Trustees & Netball Club Easter Garden Show. Meander through the various gardens around Coolamon, enjoy the natural beauty on show and take a moment to breathe in the fresh country air.
Coolamon’s Easter Garden Show is on from 10am till 4pm, with tickets available from the Up-to-Date Store.
While you’re grabbing tickets for the Easter Garden Show, the Coolamon Rotary Easter Markets are on at the historic Up-to-Date Store, with a range of stalls featuring crafts and produce, kiddie attractions, and the Easter Bunny will make an appearance.
Also make sure you check out what the Up-to-Date Store has on display. Exhibits and information about the life and history of rural towns in this region, including the Mavis Furner Crochet Collection of over 200 exquisite garments, the Garth Jones Agricultural Collection which tells a local story of life on the land from early settlement, plus an operational Lamson Ball-Style Cash Carrier which is thought to be the only one of its kind in the world that is still in its original location!
To hear more historical tales, head to the award winning Coolamon RSL Museum which houses an extensive collection of military items from Pre-Federation to the present day.
Coolamon’s beautifully restored railway station is a must-see, followed by a short stroll up the historical main street, past the gorgeous boutique stores and eateries. If you have a moment to spare, Ajanta Café awaits with incredible coffee and cakes, as well as a fantastically eclectic collection of gifts and homewares. Grab a take away for the drive home, or settle in for afternoon tea.
