Its On! In Coolamon Shire this Winter!

This winter Coolamon Shire is bringing residents and visitors an action packed program of festivals and events, showing that IT’S ON in Coolamon Shire.

Well known as an alternative lifestyle destination to Wagga, Coolamon is quickly making its mark as a must visit day trip destination for residents from the Riverina region, and their visiting friends and relatives. 

According to Coolamon Shire Council’s Tourism Development team leader Linda Tillman, Coolamon Shire is placing itself on the map by focusing on event promotion and development.

“Coolamon Shire does not have any typical tourism attractions that place us on the map, but we do have very passionate communities that know how to run great events!”

“Across the 12 month calendar Coolamon has over 40 events of all shapes and sizes, with the majority coordinated by volunteers within the communities. They are high quality events that provide residents and visitors with a great experience. We want to showcase these more,” added Ms Tillman.

The first seasonal events calendar has been launched, with winter 2014 in Coolamon Shire entailing art exhibitions, German festivals, balls, agricultural shows, equine events and markets. 

“When you combine the seasons events into one publication it is exciting. We have so many great events, and want to encourage visitors from outside of the Shire to come and experience them,” commented Ms Tillman.

“The Coolamon Up-2-Date Art Exhibition is a long standing annual event that continues to provide a great artistic experience in Coolamon. Then you have the Ardlethan German Festival, which is two days of absolute fun, and for the first time we have the Ball in the Hall inaugural event at Marrar, which is a national program, started right here in Coolamon. And that is just the beginning” added Ms Tillman.
