Coolamon is set to get toes tapping this winter! We are excited to announce that the popular bluegrass music event Coolgrass will be on again this year in Coolamon as part of the inaugural WinterFest. On the weekend commencing Friday the 19th of July 2013 Coolamon will be alive with sound of music as it hosts its second Coolgrass event.
Coolgrass, is an annual music event featuring essentially Bluegrass music. Coolgrass was held for the first time in 2012, with over 120 people attending the one night concert. Due to popular demand, Coolgrass is back in 2013 as part of the growing WinterFest program.
National Bluegrass bands and musicians are locked in for the weekend including Victoria’s Hard Drive Bluegrass Band along with NSW band Burnt Creek Deviation and many more still in negotiations. Hard Drive Bluegrass Band have offered to run workshops during the festival to share their skills and wealth of knowledge with musicians from all over the Riverina, which is an invaluable opportunity for the Coolamon Shire.
Hard Drive Bluegrass Band is known for their true and unique sound of Traditional Bluegrass Music, with high lonesome harmonies and blistering instrumentals. The popular and well renowned band released their latest album and DVD ‘Live at Guildford’ in 2011 and they are currently touring around the country with a scheduled stop in Coolamon for the Coolgrass event. Click here to listen to Hardrive perform one of their popular renditions.
Coolgrass is an event that will showcase some of Australia’s finest Bluegrass bands. With performers coming on board daily the line-up keeps growing with popular and exciting additions.
Coolgrass is currently seeking expressions of interest to sponsor the event. You can download a copy of the WinterFest Prospectus here. If you are interested in coming on board please contact Carly at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone (02) 6927 2866.
