Capture Coolamon Shire Photographic Competition

2024 TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully. Entrants are required to submit images with a completed entry form indicating their agreement to these Terms & Conditions.

1.       The Capture Coolamon Shire Photographic Competition is open to all photographers however photos to be considered for the $1000 major prize must have been taken at a location within the Coolamon Shire Boundary.

2.       The “Beyond the Boundary” bonus category will be open to photos taken from any location and will be considered for a $100 packers prize only, judged by the Capture Coolamon Shire Committee.

3.      Entries are capped at 6 in total. Printing is included in the entry price. The Capture Coolamon Shire Committee will arrange for printing.  Once the exhibition period has closed entrants will receive the printed photo.

4.      Entries are to be submitted by Friday 2 August 2024 through one of the following:

·        Online registration form on www.visitcoolamonshire.com.au  

·        Hand delivered to Coolamon Shire Library

·        Posted to: Capture Coolamon Shire Photography Competition, PO BOX 101, Coolamon NSW 2701.

Entry form, payment online or by cash at the Library and electronic file are to be submitted.

5.      Photos can be submitted online or in person. If you are supplying your own photos, they must be submitted as a TIFF or a high quality JPEG at 300dpi, at 8”x12” on a USB. If you are printing your own photos they must be 8”x12” with matt finish. Supplying images in the above format will allow best printing quality. If photos are not supplied in the above format, we cannot guarantee image quality. 

6.      Each filename is to be saved as:

·        Entrant First Name and Surname, Category, Photo Title

7.      Entries from previous years cannot be resubmitted and late entries will not be accepted.

8.       Cost of entry is $12 per photo in the Open Section and $6 per photo in the Youth Section. Entrants in the Youth Section must be aged 17 years or under on the closing date of the entries into the Competition.

9.      Images will be exhibited in the Up-to-Date Store, Coolamon, for a period of five weeks following the official opening evening on Friday 30 August 2024. The exhibition will run from Saturday 31 August to Sunday 29 September 2024.

10.   Images must be collected from the Coolamon Shire Library before Friday 29 November 2024. They will be available for collection from Tuesday 1 October 2024. If you are unable to collect in person, please contact Coolamon Shire Library to arrange for postage.

11.   By submitting your photos in the Capture Coolamon Shire Photographic Competition you agree to allow Coolamon Shire Council to reproduce these images for future promotional and marketing purposes including, but not limited to, media releases, Coolamon Shire tourism and business website, social media platforms, banners, brochures and flyers. Where possible, images will be captioned with the photographer’s name.

12.   The Committee reserves the right to change the category an image has been entered into if deemed appropriate.

13.   Judging of prints will be undertaken by a panel of professionals. Judging is anonymous and photographers’ names are removed from this process.

14.   Whilst every care will be taken to protect prints at all times and return them at the conclusion of the exhibition the Committee and Coolamon Shire Council will not be held responsible for damaged or lost entries.
