Yield Festival & Opening Night - A Celebration of Creative Arts in the Coolamon Shire

Coolamon Shire Council is excited to announce the launch of the Yield Festival for 2025, a celebration of creative arts, running from 29 August – 6 October 2025.

The festival will open in style with an Opening Night on Friday 29 August at the Coolamon Up-to-Date Store, bringing together live music, food, creativity and the official launch of two major exhibitions – Capture Coolamon Shire and Coolamon Up2Date Art.

The evening will feature live music from Andy Owen, delicious eats from Marrar Kitchen & Co., Little Rustic Pantry , and dessert boxes. Guests can also enjoy live art demonstrations by Nicole Dixon and meet local photographers and artists.

Celebrating Two Major Exhibitions

  • Capture Coolamon Shire: An exhibition of 275 photographs showcasing the Shire through the eyes of residents and visitors. Images range from professional photography to casual snapshots, offering an authentic celebration of the region’s landscapes, people and character.

  • Up2Date Art Exhibition: Celebrating its 20th anniversary, this recognised regional exhibition will feature almost 400 works across multiple mediums. The 2025 theme, “From Little Things – Big Things Grow”, highlights creativity from established, new and emerging artists from across the Riverina.

Together, the two exhibitions will present almost 700 works of art and photography, highlighting the incredible talent and creativity of the region.

Mayor David McCann OAM said the festival and opening night demonstrate the importance of arts and culture in strengthening community connections and attracting visitors.

“It is wonderful to see these two exhibitions combine to mark the launch of the Yield Festival. Together they showcase the extraordinary creativity in our Shire, while also drawing visitors to our region and celebrating what makes our community unique. The Yield Festival is a chance for us to celebrate our makers and thinkers and to share Coolamon Shire’s vibrant creative spirit with the wider Riverina.”
