'Tackle the Track': A community bike ride and walk plus a party in the park

Coolamon Shire Council is excited to announce ‘Tackle the Track,' a community event designed to reconnect communities and celebrate the spirit of togetherness. The event will take place on Saturday 4 November 2023 from 10am to 5pm.

Tackle the Track will kick off at 10am with a community bike ride and walk, offering participants the choice of four tracks to explore. Whether you're an avid cyclist or a leisurely walker, there is a track to suit everyone's preference. To add to the excitement, participants are welcome to conquer multiple tracks, setting their own personal challenge for the day.

  • Gilgai Track – Coolamon to Ganmain 32km return. 16km one way. Riders can turn around at any point along the track.

  • Kindra Forest – 10km of loops within Kindra Forest

  • Coolamon Urban Track – 8km loop

  • Ganmain Murumbang Interpretive Walk – Easy 1km track

Following the ride or walk, participants and community members are invited to enjoy a party in the park. The festivities will commence at 10am and continue until 5pm. The park will come alive with live music, engaging kids' activities and entertainment, and a variety of food options to satisfy every taste bud.

"We are thrilled to be organising this event that highlights our community spirit," said Laura Munro, Tourism and Business Development Officer. "Not only will Tackle the Track bring people together, but it will also showcase the wonderful tracks and trails we have to offer."

Whether you choose to participate in the bike ride, walk the tracks, or simply join the festivities in the park, Tackle the Track promises to be a great day to celebrate our community's resilience and friendship.
