Join us in Ardlethan for Australia Day Awards
Join us in Ardlethan to celebrate Australia Day. Kicking off with a free community BBQ breakfast from 8am in Lions Park with the official Australia Day Ceremony starting at 9.30am. The ceremony will consist of a citizenship ceremony and the announcement of Australia Day awards. Local citizens will be recognised for their valued contributions to the community. Following the official ceremony attendees are invited to stay for brunch and further entertainment.
This year the Coolamon Shire Council are proud to welcome our 2023 Australia Day Ambassador Mr Terrence O’Connell OAM. Terry is a thirty-year veteran with NSW Police Service and known internationally as the ‘cop from Wagga Wagga’. He is a Restorative Justice pioneer and was responsible for the development of the ‘scripted’ Conference model in 1991. Terry’s work has influenced the adaptation of restorative practice in a wide range of areas including youth justice, probation, community and social work, school education and workplaces throughout the world.
Our Australia Day Ambassador, Terry, will help us recognise the following Coolamon Shire locals who have been nominated for an Australia Day Award, including:
