Get pumped for the new mobile pumptrack and skate park!

Coolamon Shire Council is excited to bring the new mobile pumptrack and skate park across the Shire. Ardlethan, Ganmain, Beckom, Marrar and Matong will play host to these mobile facilities on a rotating roster.  Projects like these are a demonstration to the collaborative approach taken by Coolamon Shire Council to ensure that all young people in the Shire are given access to spaces where they can meet, have fun, be active and be themselves.

This project has welcomed full size basketball courts in Marrar, Ganmain and Ardlethan as well as a half court in Matong. Construction is currently underway for a full size court in Beckom. These basketball courts act as launch pads for the pumptrack and mobile skate park.

The roster enables towns and villages to experience these fantastic new facilities throughout the year. Each launch pad will host the pumptrack and skate park on a shared roster between all sites. When not in use the launch pads will be used as basketball courts. A roster has been prepared to allow for communities to plan visits to these new facilities.

Council’s Community Development Officer Jess Inch, is excited to see this project come to life. “The idea that the launch pads have a use for three activities is fantastic for the youth in our communities”.

“The beauty of these items rotating throughout the Shire is that youth can enjoy these spaces with a variety of different uses. When it’s not in your town it’s only a short drive to one of our nearby villages for families to play on a specific device”. Says Jess Inch, Council’s Community Development Officer.
