Pump track arrives in the Coolamon Shire!
Coolamon Shire Council are excited to bring in the new year with an exciting addition for the Shire to enjoy.
The modular Pumptrack will now be shared alongside the mobile skate park, between Ardlethan, Ganmain, Marrar and Matong. This significant project includes a full size basketball court in Ardlethan, Ganmain and Marrar, as well as a half-court in Matong.
Coolamon Shire Council have also been successful in their recent bid to secure funding for a half-court basketball court in Beckom. This funding, made available through the Stronger Communities fund, will allow the mobile skate park to travel to Beckom, alongside the existing locations.
“The mobile skate park and pumptrack are a really exciting addition to the Coolamon Shire community” said Jessica Inch, Community Development Officer for the Coolamon Shire Council. “Having infrastructure that can be shared between the towns and villages within the shire is a great way to engage our young people, as well as providing youth specific spaces that promote outdoor recreation and fun- it is really important”.
Coolamon Shire Council will now work on developing a shared roster for both the mobile skate park, which is currently in Marrar, and the Pumptrack, which is currently in Ardlethan. The sites can be used as a basketball court when not hosting the mobile devices.
