Coolamon Shire brings in 2018 with NYE Street Party!
With live music, food delights, fun kid’s activities and a spectacular fireworks display, Coolamon’s NYE Street Party was a success with over 3000 attendees. Celebrating its seventh year, this free community event was the place for families and friends to ring in 2018.
The NYE celebrations were held in Coolamon’s heritage main street, from 6pm-10pm. The street was closed to traffic which allows attendees to freely roam and wonder the street, taking in attractions, boutique shopping and local cafes and food stalls.
The main fireworks display lit up the sky at 10pm with an impressive show. In the lead-up to the fireworks there was loads of free entertainment to keep the little ones amused with jumping castles, face painting, petting zoo, roving performers and more. Attendees were able to sit back and watch the sun go down, while listing to live music from ‘The Dust’, Jack Thompson and Nathan Lamont.
“Celebrating NYE in Coolamon has become a festive season tradition for many families and this year saw another brilliant evening of music, entertainment and food. This event celebrates our community and provides an opportunity for local residents and travellers to enjoy an event locally.” Said Laura Higgins, Tourism & Business Development Officer, Coolamon Shire Council.
The Coolamon NYE Street Party is proudly supported by major partners Beyond Bank, Coolamon Rotary Club, Coolamon Foodworks and Coolamon Shire Council.
