Full House for Foxy in Feb

Love was in the air on Valentine’s night and cupid’s arrows were aimed directly at Ardlethan, as 160 guests packed into the Ardlethan New Memorial Hall for Bale Out Ball’s Foxy in Feb.

With a splash of red for romance, a delicious 3 course meal, lucky door prizes, raffles, an auction, live music and entertainment, there’s no wonder it was a full house.

Guests came from all over Eastern Australia including Queensland, Tasmania, Victoria, ACT and NSW, with one guest from Norway and another from Ireland, it was a fantastic mix of people.

The Bowling Club did a fantastic job running the bar, raising over $3,000 towards rebuilding the club.
Dr Kath Browning Carmo was guest speaker on the night, raising $350 to go towards the purchase of a specialised helicopter for retrieval operations with babies and children in rural NSW. This helicopter can travel from Sydney to Broken Hill in less than an hour. Plus an additional $3,500 was raised on the night, which will go directly back into the Ardlethan community.

Event organiser Sarah McCaig recognised the efforts of The Advance Ardlethan Committee, which was “key to the success of the event through their assistance with promotion, set up and clean up, as well as finding community organisations who can benefit from the proceeds of the event.”

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day and all that love stuff, Sarah went on to say “The community of Ardlethan should be so proud of themselves and the great job they do in supporting each other. They took me under their wing and have adopted me as one of their own. It is truly heart-warming.”

She also mentioned special thanks to Dell Garrett for her support and Ariah 62 for their wonderful coffee!
