Ganmain presents its 104th Show
The Ganmain Show’s schedule is jam-packed full of things to see and do this weekend.
The Ganmain Show Society Inc. annual show, which is hosting its 104th show, will be held on Saturday, 18 August at the Ganmain Showgrounds.
For only a small town, the Ganmain Show certainly shows off the best the area has to offer with activities and events for all ages and interests.
One of the highlights of this year’s program is the Conformation Championship Dog Show. The biggest ever to be held at Ganmain, international judges from Serbia, South Africa and New Zealand have attracted entries from far and wide, representing a huge number of breeds.
The working dog will also be on display with the Coprice Yard Dog Trials featuring again this year.
The ‘world’ famous Ganmain Pie will be celebrated with the Great Ganmain Pie Eating Contest. With categories for all ages the pie eating competition will provide the crowd with plenty of laughs as competitors try to stuff themselves by eating three pies in the quickest time. Needless to say there are often some sore bellies after this event!

- Sheep and wool judging
- Showgirl competition
- Quickshear competitiion
A $200 lucky gate prize is also up for grabs with the day ending in a massive fireworks grand finale from 6pm.
Inaugural Ganmain Show president, John Hamblin, said the show had earned the excellent reputation of being one of the great Riverina regional shows and has kept its agricultural roots at its forefront.
“There is so much happening and so much to see, we hope the 104th annual show will be a success,” Mr Hamblin said.
