Live entertainment, face painting, fireworks and street performers are just some of the activities families can enjoy on New Years Eve.

After the success of last year’s inaugural event, Coolamon are once again hosting the Coolamon New Years Eve Street Party.

The family friendly event will be held in the picturesque Cowabbie Street from 6pm to 10pm, with an exciting fireworks display ending the evening.

The Street Party will once again showcase buskers, street performers, live entertainment, dancers, children’s activities, amusements and food stalls.

Committee Chairperson, David McCann, said there would be plenty of activities for the kids with face painting, an animal nursery, jumping castle and photo booth.

“After last year’s success we are pretty excited about celebrating 2012 and bringing in the New Year in our thriving main street,” Mr McCann said.

Developed with families in mind, residents and visitors are encouraged to bring a chair, rug, food and drinks and enjoy the carnival-like atmosphere.

“After the fireworks at 10pm everyone can then continue celebrations at one of the local venues.”

The Heritage Express Southern Aurora train will provide a backdrop to the New Years Eve festivities, arriving in town just in time for the passengers to celebrate New Years Eve with Coolamon.

The event is proudly supported by Coolamon Shire Council, North East Riverina Rural Counselling Service (NERRCS) and Wagga Mutual Credit Union.

This year’s Street Party will kick-off from 6pm to 10pm on Monday, 31 December in Cowabbie Street, Coolamon.
