The NSW Office of Environment and Heritage has a useful funding program which may be of benefit to local businesses.

The program promotes energy efficiency for small business. It can provide help with an energy assessment and energy action plan of a business to save energy (and money). The program can also help with up to 50% of the cost (up to $5,000, depending upon the size of the electricity bill) to carry out actions from the plan such as, but not limited to, changing lighting and adding skylight, changing heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and insulation.

Visit http://www.oeh.nsw.gov.au/sustainbus/smallbusenergy.htmfor more information.

To register for the Energy Efficiency for Small Business Program a business needs to complete a Registration Form which can be downloaded, or register online at the above website.

If local businesses or business groups are interested, there is a short presentation about the program, the carbon tax, reducing electricity costs and energy efficiency available. Please contact Louise Conibear on 02 6921 6422 or email louise.conibear@business.nsw.gov.au for more information.
