We can’t wait to present to you a wonderful opportunity to indulge yourself amongst the encaustic works of @sharondevalentin from Griffith! I love Sharon’s art and am delighted to have the opportunity to display her new recent body of work!! But we also get to witness the process of her love of encaustic with us! Watching her with a blow torch is rather cool! I’m sure there will be opportunities to have some hands on experiences on Saturday 20th 10-12pm after her artists talk! We will also make sure you are hydrated and nourished.

What is encaustic you ask? Google says…
“Encaustic art is an ancient painting technique that uses heated, pigmented beeswax combined with damar resin (a crystallized tree sap). Applied molten and shaped with heat, the wax hardens instantly, creating luminous, dimensional, and highly textured artwork”
