A portal to the past is opening in Ganmain! Join the annual Ganmain Historical Society Open Day and immerse yourself in a living, working snapshot of our region’s rich history.

Wander through the museum and grounds and experience history in action, with static displays and live demonstrations of vintage machinery, tractors, home appliances and farming equipment. Local farmers will bring along classic tractors and cars, expanding the museum’s collection for one day only.

Watch sparks fly as a blacksmith and wood carver practise their crafts, see a restored chaffcutter in operation and enjoy more engines running than they have had in many years—including plans to have a thrasher operating on the day. Stories, social history and hands-on demonstrations will bring the memorabilia and treasures of the museum vividly to life, all displayed in their original settings.

This year’s Open Day also proudly celebrates Mr Stuart Winrow, marking an incredible 50 years as Treasurer of the Ganmain Historical Society.

Make a day of it—food and drinks will be available to purchase, with EFTPOS now available, so you can relax, linger and enjoy everything on offer.

Step back in time. Hear the engines roar. Share the stories.
